To be honest, it’s my first time to read
this kind of philosophical book. When I was young, I believe that I can’t
understand the meaning of life, or in other words, I didn’t understand what
life about is. However, when I first read a little bit about this book Man’s
Search for Meaning, some little words and some little education in this book
are like opening the door to a brand new world.
The points which left the deepest
impression for me is three ways people find meaningful lives. First, is
“creating a work or doing a deed;” second is “by experiencing something or
encountering someone;” third is “by the attitude we take toward unavoidable
suffering.”(P111) The first one, it’s the easiest one to positioning one’s life
meaning called success. When people get success in their job or their life,
they may clearly feel their value; they find the meaning of their life in some
specific areas. The second one is little hard for me to understand, but in this
book, the author use loves to explain it. Love not only can make two people
willing to be open to each other and reveal our true selves but also can
promote the people’s work enthusiasm and inspire their potential. The third one
is to face the setbacks; I want to say a real phenomenon that more and more
teenage lack the necessary frustration endurance, and always be negative, even
commit suicide with some extreme manners.
If it’s human nature to avoid suffering and pain, why does Jesus tell us
to expect it? Facing the suffering can make people achieve sublimation.
It’s too early for me to finding life
meaning, but I believe teenager, who observe life carefully, can find the
wonders of life. Keep a good state of mind, and full with energy can help the
teenager to search for life meaning.
